Psychology on Hay

Clinical & Psychology Services in Subiaco

Psychology on Hay is taking the threat of COVID-19 seriously, in particular the threat to vulnerable individuals, and we continue to monitor the situation closely.

If you have recently travelled overseas or have had contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or if you are feeling unwell, particularly if you are manifesting flu-like symptoms, in the interests of containing the virus, please do not visit us until you have been tested or have recovered. Please observe the appropriate isolation periods.

If you would prefer not to come into our offices, our team are more than happy to have an online consultation with you. Our psychologists all have processes in place to support this. In addition, the Government has introduced new COVID-19 Medicare telehealth items. This allows psychologists to videoconference with clients who meet the eligibility criteria. Please contact your individual therapist who can assess whether you are eligible to receive phone/face time counselling.

Please feel free to chat with your therapist about any concerns that you might have, which can include tips for coping with corona virus anxiety.

Here is also a link to an APS fact sheet which includes tips for coping with corona virus anxiety. However my basic tip will always be to slow down the breath and to make sure your out breath is longer than the in breath to trigger the relaxation response.

For those feeling some anxiety about COVID-19, I recommend the following video posted by Rick Hanson – Resilience in a time of Fear
